October 2008 – February 2009 : Four Bookers in a row
The media attention given to the “White Tiger”written by Aravind Adiga, brought the Booker list back to my attention.
After finishing the “White Tiger”, I remembered Yan Martel's "the life of Pi", which I dropped somewhere halfway. I picked it up again, finished in one go. After Pi, I went to the bookshop and bought the Kelly Gang by Peter Carey and Amsterdam by Ian McEwan, two other booker prize winners.
In their 2009 catalogue, the “Folio Society” presented A.S. Byatt’s award-winning “Possession” beautifully illustrated by Rowena Dugdale. I received it in March and it will be my next book.
